Celebrate across our historic spaces
At weekends, the first floor rooms are available for exclusive hire, allowing your wedding to take place across a series of interconnected spaces. This creates a clear flow throughout the day, with room for dining, dancing and quieter moments as the celebration unfolds.
Full day weddings are best suited to around 120 guests, allowing comfortable use of the Hall and adjoining rooms for ceremony, dining and evening celebrations. For larger occasions, the first floor can accommodate up to 600 guests for a standing reception, while the Hall seats up to 276 guests for formal dining.
Spaces suitable for weddings at The Inner Temple
Accommodation
Two luxury double bedrooms, The Boswell and The Chaucer, are available on site, allowing you to remain within the estate throughout your celebrations.
The Boswell offers a more contemporary style with views towards Temple Church, while The Chaucer features a traditional four-poster bed, providing a more classic and romantic setting.
These rooms are ideal for the night before the wedding, offering space to prepare and relax, as well as for the wedding night itself, so you can end the day without needing to travel elsewhere.
From preparations to ceremony
Preparations often begin in the Drawing Room, offering a comfortable space for hair, makeup and the wedding party to get ready and gather ahead of the ceremony.
Ceremonies typically take place in one of the licensed rooms, with the Parliament Chamber often used before guests move through to the Luncheon Room for reception drinks, followed by dining and evening celebrations in the Hall. The layout of the day can be adapted to suit your plans, allowing the celebration to flow naturally between spaces.
Members of the Inn may also choose to marry at Temple Church, with arrangements made directly with the Church, before continuing celebrations at The Inner Temple. Couples marrying elsewhere can also host their reception here, allowing guests to come together in one setting for the remainder of the day.
From wedding breakfast to evening celebration
The Hall hosts the wedding breakfast and transitions into evening dancing, with adjoining rooms used as bar, lounge or quieter spaces as the celebration develops.
During the summer, ceremonies and receptions may also take place within the Garden or Pavilion. The Pavilion provides a covered setting for dining, entertainment and larger celebrations, while the Garden can be used alongside the main building for drinks and photography.
Weekend weddings allow full use of the first floor spaces, with the option to incorporate the Garden and Pavilion, creating a natural flow throughout the day. Midweek celebrations are typically more intimate in scale.

Wedding packages
Weddings at The Inner Temple can be delivered through either a standard package or a bespoke approach.
Our standard packages provide a clear framework covering room hire, catering and key event elements, offering a straightforward approach to planning.
For more tailored celebrations, bespoke options allow you to shape the format of the day, including menus, drinks selections and room layouts, to reflect your guest numbers and preferences.
Dry hire is also available for culturally specific events, with our team working alongside your chosen suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
Planning considerations
Full day weddings that include ceremony, dining and evening celebrations are best suited to a guest experience that allows comfortable use of the Hall and its connecting rooms. Our team will guide you on layouts to ensure the day flows smoothly.
Where the Hall is used for both ceremony and dining, time is required to allow for room turnaround. This is built into the schedule to ensure a seamless transition between each part of the day.
All rooms are available from 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, making midweek weddings well suited to evening celebrations. At weekends, the first floor spaces are available from 11.00 am, with events running until 1.00 am on Saturdays and 11.00 pm on Sundays. Earlier access can be discussed during the planning stages where required.
During the summer season, the Garden and Pavilion are available for ceremonies and receptions, subject to seasonal installation dates.
Early enquiry is recommended, particularly for peak summer weekends and popular ceremony dates.
