A striking setting
Set within private grounds, The Inner Temple offers a distinctive backdrop for summer events, where manicured lawns sit alongside historic architecture.
The Garden opens out across wide lawns and established planting, with views towards the River Thames adding to the sense of space. Surrounded by historic buildings, the landscape and architecture come together naturally, creating a setting that is immediately recognisable.
During its installation period, the Pavilion sits within the Garden, introducing a contemporary structure that anchors the space without interrupting its character.
Elsewhere, the Terrace and Church Court offer additional outdoor areas within the estate, each bringing a different perspective while remaining closely connected to the surrounding architecture.

Indoor and outdoor spaces for summer parties
How a summer party typically unfolds at The Inner Temple
Summer parties at The Inner Temple are typically centred around a primary space, selected to suit the size and format of the event.
For larger celebrations, Pavilion provides a self-contained setting, where receptions, dining and entertainment can take place within one defined space.
Where events are connected to the main building, the Garden, Terrace and Church Court can be used for drinks receptions and outdoor elements, with indoor spaces available as part of a wet weather contingency.
Events can also incorporate multiple areas across the estate where appropriate, allowing movement between spaces while maintaining a clear structure throughout.
Weekend Events
Weekend daytime events at The Inner Temple are well suited to larger, more produced formats, including corporate summer parties and family fun days.
The Pavilion provides a central, standalone structure within the Garden, creating a defined space for hosting, dining and organised activity.
For larger or extended events, the Pavilion and Garden can be used alongside the main building, allowing multiple spaces to be incorporated across the estate.
Pegasus Bar & Restaurant is available for private hire at weekends and offers a separate indoor setting for smaller gatherings or as part of a wider event.
Summer party packages
Summer parties can be delivered through seasonal packages or tailored to suit your event requirements.
Catering options include canapés, bowl food, BBQ-style menus and live food stations, suitable for both relaxed garden receptions and larger hosted events. Drinks packages and tailored bar options are also available, including cocktails and low and non-alcoholic selections.
Entertainment and production can be incorporated within the Pavilion and across the outdoor spaces, including live music, DJs, staging and lighting. Garden games and informal activity areas can also be introduced, particularly for weekend and family-focused events.
Our team will work with you to shape the event around your audience, format and preferred level of service.
Planning considerations
Outdoor spaces are available from May to September, with Pavilion installed between Tuesday 16 June and Thursday 9 July 2026.
Midweek summer events begin from 6.00pm, with Pavilion available until 10.30pm. A limited number of earlier Pavilion start times are available on selected dates.
At weekends, the Garden, Pavilion, Terrace and Church Court are available from 11.00am to 9.00pm. Pegasus Bar & Restaurant may also be incorporated as part of a weekend event.
Wet weather contingency is built into planning for the Garden, Terrace and Church Court, with indoor alternatives arranged where required. Pavilion operates as a covered standalone event space during its installation period.
