The Inner Temple offers four distinctive outdoor spaces that can form part of your event during the summer months. Set within a private estate in the City of London, these areas allow events to extend into the open air while remaining within the grounds.

The Terrace provides an elegant location for drinks and conversation. Church Court is a historic courtyard beside Temple Church. The Pavilion sits within the Garden, offering a covered option for larger receptions, while the Garden itself spans three acres of landscaped grounds where guests can gather and move freely.

Each space serves a different purpose, and many events combine outdoor and indoor areas to create a well-paced and thoughtfully planned experience.

Outdoor spaces at The Inner Temple can be incorporated into a wide range of events throughout the spring and summer months.

For conferences and meetings, events often conclude with drinks receptions in Church Court or on the Terrace, allowing guests to gather outdoors before departing or moving into the evening programme.

For dinners and evening celebrations, outdoor spaces are frequently used for arrival drinks or pre-dinner receptions, creating a natural transition from outdoor conversation into the main event inside.

Pavilion at The Inner Temple is well suited to larger events, providing sheltered space within the Garden while maintaining the atmosphere of an outdoor celebration. It works well for corporate cocktail receptions, summer parties, family fun days, private celebrations and larger gatherings.

Outdoor spaces on the weekend

Weekend hire offers greater flexibility across the estate, allowing outdoor spaces to form a central part of the day. For weekend weddings, celebrations may unfold across multiple locations, from ceremonies and arrivals through to drinks receptions and evening gatherings. Both the Garden and Pavilion at The Inner Temple are licensed for civil ceremonies.
