Pricing and Booking
How much does it cost to hire The Inner Temple?
Pricing depends on the space, the day of the week, the time of year and your guest numbers. Each room is priced individually, so rather than a single figure we prepare a quote for your date, space and guest numbers. All of our prices are quoted excluding VAT.
We also offer packages that can be tailored to your requirements. Our brochures are available on the Christmas parties and weddings pages. For any other event, contact our team for a tailored quote.
How do I secure a date, and do you offer provisional holds?
A booking is confirmed once we have received your signed contract and deposit. The deposit varies depending on how far ahead you book, and the full terms are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
Christmas dates and Pavilion season are offered on a first come, first served basis. For other spaces, we can hold a date for 48 hours or agree a longer period with you. Summer weekends and December evenings are popular, so we recommend enquiring as soon as you have a date in mind.
Are events available in the evening and at weekends?
Yes. We host events on weekday evenings and at weekends. Evening and weekend events in the Inner Temple Hall can include a takeover of the whole first floor. The Hall is not available on weekdays during the daytime.

What is the wet weather plan for a Garden ceremony?
If the weather is unsuitable for a Garden ceremony, we can move it into the Pavilion (July only) or any of our licensed indoor rooms, depending on your guest numbers. Our events team can advise on the most suitable option for your wedding.
Can we hold a religious blessing or cultural ceremony?
Yes. A licence is only needed for the legal, civil part of a ceremony. A religious blessing or cultural ceremony does not require one, so we can host it in any of our spaces. Our team can advise on the most suitable space for your guest numbers and the format of your day.
Members of the Inn may also marry at Temple Church, with arrangements made directly with the Church.
Food and Drink
Can we bring our own wine, and is there a corkage charge?
Yes, corkage is available. It is charged per bottle, from £2.50 to £64 excluding VAT, and full details are in our Autumn Winter Menu 2026. Drinks should be delivered at least 48 hours before your event so our team can sort and chill them.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Dry hire is available, particularly for culturally specific events where clients wish to bring their own suppliers. Find out more about dry hire at The Inner Temple, or speak to our events team about what would suit your event.
Planning Your Event
Do you provide assistance with AV and technology?
We have a dedicated in-house AV technician available during office hours (9.00am-5.00pm, Monday-Friday) to assist you with the setup of your meeting or event. They can ensure compatibility of your slides and provide support with any pre-arranged room technology. It is important to keep in mind that if you require a dedicated AV technician to be present throughout your meeting or event, we can arrange additional support for an extra cost. This ensures that you have professional assistance readily available to address any AV-related needs throughout your session. Moreover, for added convenience, our 4th-floor meeting rooms and Lecture Theatre offer the option to directly email slides and presentations to the room. This eliminates the need for a laptop on the day, simplifying the setup process and providing a seamless experience for presenters.
Are there restrictions on music, DJs or live bands?
Music is welcome, with some limits to protect our neighbours and the historic estate. All music must be agreed in advance and must not exceed 73 decibels, both indoors and in the Garden.
Indoor events usually finish at 11pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, events inside the building can continue until 1am. In the Garden on weekdays, sound checks can begin from 6pm, music from 6.30pm, and parties finish at 9pm. Weekend Garden hours are more flexible and are agreed in your contract.
If you are planning a concert or live performance, please speak to our team so we can agree the arrangements with you.
Are there rules on candles, confetti or decorations?
A few rules apply to protect our historic interiors and the Garden.
- Candles and open flames: permitted in drip-proof containers only. In the Garden, they must be placed on paths.
- Confetti: not permitted anywhere on the estate. In the Garden, rice, artificial snow and sparklers are also not permitted.
- Decorations: welcome, but nothing can be stuck to the walls, so you will need suitable fittings or stands. Themed decorations need a written proposal, approved in advance by your Event Manager.
- Fireworks: can be arranged by agreement, using the Inn’s preferred contractors.
