The Inner Temple Garden is an award-winning three-acre garden with views towards the Thames, and one of the largest privately owned gardens in central London. Set within the historic grounds of The Inner Temple, it offers a remarkable open-air setting for summer receptions, drinks events and garden parties.

Guests can move freely across expansive lawns and among vibrant seasonal planting, creating a relaxed and sociable atmosphere within a setting that feels both open and considered.

The Garden may be hired as a standalone venue or combined with indoor rooms when your event calls for both elements. Its scale and setting make it particularly well suited to larger summer gatherings.

What the Garden brings to your event

The Garden lends itself naturally to outdoor occasions, offering the space and flexibility for events to unfold entirely in the open air when required. Bar and catering service can be positioned throughout, allowing the experience to feel seamless and well paced.

Both the Garden and Pavilion are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, enabling celebrations to take place within the grounds from ceremony through to drinks reception.

The setting itself creates variety within a single space. Open areas allow for larger gatherings and entertainment, while quieter corners provide opportunities for more relaxed conversation, giving events both energy and balance.

 

Access to our other spaces

The Garden can be incorporated into events taking place across the venue, offering a natural extension to indoor occasions.

During the summer installation period, Pavilion at The Inner Temple forms part of the Garden setting, providing a covered option within the wider landscape. This allows events to combine open-air and sheltered elements while maintaining a consistent atmosphere throughout.

Its connection to the surrounding spaces supports a clear progression through the event, whether moving from indoors to outdoors or using the Garden as the primary setting.

Availability

The Garden is available for hire from May through to September, with evening availability Monday to Friday from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, and extended daytime and evening hire on Saturdays and Sundays from 11.00am to 9.00pm.

Weather contingency is incorporated as standard, with suitable indoor alternatives arranged to ensure your event proceeds seamlessly should conditions change.

Summer dates secure quickly, particularly for larger events and those incorporating Pavilion at The Inner Temple, so early enquiry is recommended.
