Located on the first floor, The Inner Temple Hall is one of the few remaining Georgian style banqueting halls in the City of London.

With seating for up to 276 guests or receptions for up to 400, the Hall provides an impressive setting for formal dinners, awards ceremonies and large scale events, creating a genuine sense of occasion from the moment guests enter the room.

The scale and character of the room

Oak panelled walls lined with historic portraits and heraldic shields reflect centuries of tradition, while stained glass windows and silvered chandeliers illuminate the Hall and emphasise the architectural proportions established when the space was rebuilt during the Georgian era.

A marble floor runs the length of the Hall, contributing to the sense of grandeur and providing a natural surface for dancing without the need for an additional dance floor.

Above the room, the Gallery offers an elevated vantage point that is frequently used for photography and videography, capturing the full scale and atmosphere of events from above.

 

 

How the space is used

The Inner Temple Hall is well suited to a wide range of events including formal dinners, awards ceremonies, corporate receptions, lectures, concerts and weddings. The room’s proportions and acoustics also make it particularly effective for musical performances and speaker led events.

The Hall accommodates up to 276 guests for seated dining or 400 guests for standing receptions, allowing the space to host events of significant scale while maintaining a strong sense of occasion.

 

 

The Hall connects directly to the Luncheon Room, which in turn links through to the Parliament Chamber. For larger events, guests are often welcomed with a reception in these adjoining rooms before being invited through to the Hall for dinner or the main event, creating a natural sense of build up as guests move into the space. A separate ante room provides an additional entrance into the Hall, allowing larger guest numbers to move into the space comfortably. For smaller gatherings, the Hall can also host both reception and dining within the same room.

 

 

Planning notes

The Inner Temple Hall is available for evening events from 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, and for daytime and evening events at weekends.

Due to its scale and architectural character, the Hall is particularly well suited to larger dining events, receptions and formal celebrations.

Adjoining reception rooms on the first floor can be incorporated into the event layout, providing space for arrival drinks, networking or lounge areas alongside the main event.
