Hall Lunch

The Inner Temple Hall Lunch is a membership benefit open to members of the four Inns, Inns’ staff, chambers, chambers’ staff, and their guests. We take pride in providing a friendly and relaxed environment in this historic environment where members and their guests can enjoy good food and good company.

Please note: Hall will close after lunch on Thursday 31 July 2025 and reopen on Monday 8 September at 12.30pm.

Timings

Our lunch service operates from Monday to Friday, between 12.30pm and 2.00pm, offering a varied selection of dishes to cater for diverse tastes.

 

Food

Our traditional roasts with all the trimmings are available five days per week, with other hot savoury options including vegetarian and vegan dishes. Members can enjoy our popular Thursday ‘Curry Day’ or experience our famous ‘Chip Shop Friday’. A wide range of options are available from our fresh salad counter, and for those on the go, hot or cold dishes may be taken away. Our famous crème brûlée can be found at the dessert counter.

Sparkling and still filtered water is freely available for all guests. For other refreshments like tea, soft drinks, and wine, please ask a waiter or visit the drinks station. Nespresso coffee is conveniently self-served from our coffee machine.

As far as possible, we aim to accommodate allergens and other dietary requirements on the day. Please speak to a member of the team on arrival. Advance notice of specific requirements may also be sent to the Catering Office cateringops@innertemple.org.uk .

Children

While we warmly welcome children, we ask that parents and carers take into consideration other members and the professional environment, by ensuring that children be seated throughout the meal.

 

Legally Affiliated Group Bookings

Members may also make group bookings with colleagues or associates. Bookings can be made for groups of a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 22. Group bookings cannot be guaranteed for a Friday.

For group bookings of 10-15, a deposit of £15.00 per person is required to secure the booking which must be made and confirmed by a member of The Inner Temple. This is non-refundable from 10 days prior to the event, and will not be counted towards the final cost of the bill for no shows.

We accept card payments through World Pay, ensuring a hassle-free process for organisers to finalise the reservation.

Group bookings of 15-22 will be required to choose from a great value set menu. Full payment must be made in advance and will not be refundable from 10 days prior to the event.

Option 1 – Main course with vegetables, Soup starter or dessert, coffee or soft drink – £27.50 per person, including VAT.

Option 2 – Soup, main course with vegetables, dessert, coffee or soft drink – £32.00 per person, including VAT.

Option 3 – Soup, main course with vegetables, dessert, coffee or soft drink, and a glass of house wine – £37.50 per person, including VAT.

Bookings for groups larger than 22 will only be accepted, subject to the availability of the Luncheon Room, 2 weeks before the event. If you wish to book earlier than that, a room hire charge at our day rate will be applied. These groups will be required to choose from a great value set menu. Full payment must be made in advance and will not be refundable from 10 days prior to the event.

To ensure a seamless experience, the final balance can be settled on the day at the till, or if preferred, we can issue a link for payment following your lunch. Please let us know your preferred payment option at the time of booking.

Payment Options

Once you have finished dining, please proceed to the tills to make your payment.

We are a cashless establishment and gladly accept various forms of card payments, including American Express (Amex).

 

Student Discount

Students can enjoy a 20% discount on food (excluding drinks) at The Inner Temple Hall Lunch when they present their valid student discount card at the till.

 

Dress Code

There is no dress code in Hall at lunchtime.

 

Terms & Conditions

Please be advised that the Sub-Treasurer reserves the right to deny entry or remove any guests at his discretion, to ensure an enjoyable environment for all guests at The Inner Temple Hall Lunch.

Prices may be subject to change, and we reserve the right to modify them without prior notice.

To respect members’ privacy, please do not take calls, photographs or videos in Hall during lunch.
